Im not sure what to say on this i will let the pictures do the talking, but if any one has a engine for a yamaha sr kicking arround and they would like to sell it please let me know Smile

just looked on ebay there is nothing Sad i dont wanna sell the bike and get another i love it to bits. hopefuly in a couple of days there will be something Smile

Slack tappets won't cause that to happen.
It looks more like timing is out or the engine suffered an overspeed condition.

As the valve and seat wear the valve will move further away from the top of the piston.

New valves, check timing, clean the top of the piston and clash it together.

on the up side i have had a quick look on the bay and came across this Smile

now i now its a full bike but if you could snatch this for a small amount of cash you could take the bits you need, Email the guy and ask him a little more about the engine

No this seller has a bottom end and has a shed load of other items from different bikes for sale, he may still have the top so drop him a line too.

Thank you mate <3 its much apresuated (please excuse spelling) but i am now debating on getting a aprillia sr 125 and getting rid of ratty. I just dont know what to do :/

Yeah the RS is anice bike, need to bare in mind that the RS125 needs to be maintained to a high spec. They have previously been owned by a young lad and thrashed or has silly aftermarket pieces added for a little more power. If you do get one try find one that hasnt been tampered with and has history, also one that hasnt seen a bush or been dropped lol.

Sorry you put SR didnt you lol, My eyes are going Confused So you going for a scooter then?

Why not look for a better cruiser? Honda and Suzuki do cracking little ones and you can pick them up of the bay for around £600. Personaly I dont think you can beat the old Honda CG engine lol. Bullet proof them things Thumbs Up

im trying to sauce a new engine. As my gearbox is dogy i dont see my point on investing money on that bottem end and i cant afford a sr as i applyed for a budgiting loan and only got £348. Athough im looking on ebay constanly to see if there is a bargin bike on there. I need to find something quick though im not likeing cyclying everyware lol.

i found a sr 250 on ebay was really tempted at buying it and putting it into my 125 chassie but my girlfriend said i would be stupid to do that and if i got cault id be in shit. but im still tempted lol.
