ZZR600 - Airbox Question

Trying to sort a mates ZZR out and get it running properly but it doesn;t have parts 14073 and 39156. It was running before without them does it need it? What is it for it seems to be a secondary airfilter but there doesn't seem to be a lid.?

Can anyone shed any light on it, or could people show me pictures of theirs?

Not sure myself but looking at other kawasaki's parts fiche's some models seem to be fitted with a 'screen' for the air duct, so at a guess something like a pre- filter?. If it's having certain types of running problems it could be the culprit. (my current bike needs to run on a stock airbox and filter or it plays hell with the carbs and running)

I need all the airbox seals in that picture too however Kawasaki tell me they are no longer available. IS there anything I can use instead? The seals where made out of a sort of foam rubber.

That's the box of a "D" model, which takes the air in from the back- ..the parts you mention are just an inlet duct into the box- the battery should sit there-folk take them off as they think it gives more power and a louder intake noise . Best just get a complete airbox off Ebay?
