I'm gona be making a small conrete slope onto earth, what or do i need to do anything for the base, be it hardcore or a sheet, am ok with making and laying the concrete, but don't want it cracking to buggery within a year etc ?? ta Smile Thumbs Up Karma

For the best result you will need atleast 4 inches of compacted hardcore under it and make sure that at it's thinnest the concrete is atleast 2 inches deep and reinforced with rebar if poss

It's just for small slope to aid getting in and out of the garden, might just stick with the rubber ramp thats there if it's gonna be a hassle ! Laughing

Lay it like you would normally, whack some gravel it with it, tap it down, don't let it dry out to quickly...

I can make it, laying it down is another thing, and straight onto ' mud ' would mean it would move and crack afaik ! Confused

Think i may just lay the slabs upto the gate, cut the bottom few inches of the gate Smile Cool

What sort of size we talking? You use a surprising amount of sand concreting. Is it just for wheeling a bike over.

The rise is about 6 inch max, the slope area will be around a tad over a M square, ? Thumbs Up

Use a paving slab. 3x2 if you can find one.
