I am after some lock advice. I know buying something like an Almax is probably the way to go, but at the minute with having to pay for lessons/tests/kit/bike I am after a cheaper solution to get me through the next few months. My mate has given me an unused Oxford chain and I was thinking of getting a disc lock that I can use on the chain (instead of a normal padlock) and then when I can afford a better lock/chain system being able to then have the two separate systems. Or when I am just nipping down to the shops I can just use the disc lock. The Datatool Devil 1000 looks good value and the Oxford Monster looks good too. Any views/advice appreciated.

Well they cut the lock and the chain.. presumably to render the whole thing useless so I couldnt bolt up the GSXR1000 in the garage Rolling Eyes But it was in like 5 pieces when I went outside in the morning... Laughing

Almax is definitely the way to go... or get a cyclone v2 alarm on ebay... so cheap £27.99 and its a little deterrent Thumbs Up

+1 for the Cyclone.
I have the 'basic' model for my 2T and it's still there Wink
Dead easy to fit too. Smile

I would go for the Cyclone as well nice deterrent and quite handy for the small price tag. For the chain and padlock you could get an expensive model however I would rather use 5 cheap disklocks than an expensive £400 disklock.
