I am not english, therefor I don't know if you by "standard bike" mean that you've bought the 100cc speedfight or if you've bought one of the the 50cc moped.

I had a 50cc (EU version = legal topspeed 45km/h). This was a swedish moped, but these restrictions should be the same on yours. So all these things are about the moped. I apologize if I misinterpreted your text.

First restrictions is in the variator. In the one with weights (the one in the back if I remember correctly) there is a brick which you remove to gain about 10km/h. Also, by changing the weights you can improve performance (get either higher speed, better accelration or a blend).

You should also have a restriction in your exhaustsystem. Different ones on different speedfights but removing this will give you bout 5-10 km/h more. the easiest way is to buy one without a restriction.

Also you have a limited CDI box. this limits your RPM. changing this to an unlimited will also improve topspeed.

There are many more ways, but these are the cheepest ones and the ones I did with mine.

Don't know how though the cops are where you live on making these tweaks to mopeds, but if they are you can buy a cdi box with the ability to restrict rpm but the you can unrestrict easily with a button or by moving your handbrakes in a certain combination. this way its hard for them to know that it's not like factory ones.

are you familiar with the Single Vehicle Approval rules to re-register it from a 'Moped' as is now to a 'motorcycle' the moment it can exceed 32mph?
You are aware; that NOT re-registering under new vehcile classification will make the vehicle 'other than that recorded on the registration document'; deeming the vehicle regsitration void; and the vehicle subject to siezure, & probably destruction, should it be found on or used on a public road?
You are aware that all modifications have to be declared to your insurance company, or it deems insurance invalid?
That Insuring a vehicle other than described on the regiustration document is fraud?
Etc etc etc...
If so, carry on.... if not think a little about why you want to do this?

And IF, just IF, its becouse you are titting about in L-Plates with provisional entitlement and aren't old enough to LEGALLY ride anything bigger or faster....

PONDER the criminal genius, of the plot; and IF you are prepared to run the risks of getting cought; bearing in mind that at BEST you will only get an extra 5-10mph indicated out of teh thing...... and the risks are you will have your bike taken from you; your licence suspended, and fined the fuck out of...... moment you are clocked at over 35mph... becouse the number of all teh crimes you have commited starts with exceeding startutrory speed limit for vehicle type; continues through contravention of C&U regulations all the way up to insurance fraud....

WHY NOT; get hung for a sheep as a lamb and get yourself something like an R6, and get some REAL performance for it all....

Becouse its no less illegal, and rediculousely making NO effort to PRETEND to be legal they cant chuck the book at you for obviouse criminal intent.....

Other wise, apreciate the privilidge of having a 50 at 16; follow the rules, keep your nose and licence clean, and you MIGHT, just MIGHT in teh 15 months until the licence laws change stand a chance of using road experience on your 50 to get quick tests in on 125 before the system changes to fuck every one under 24......

Or carry on; thinking its a great scam and you are getting away with some mastermind of pure criminal genius, while scooting along at a heady FORTY miles an hour!
