Well my luck had to run out sooner or later, and it eventually did Saturday night.

Went down to see the parents on Saturday night and went out for a few beers with my Dad and my Brother. I had taken the bike down as I had stopped off at J&S Accessories to see if a screen I liked would fit the bike (it didn't). After a few pints in the local I decided it wouldn't be wise to ride the bike home and thought I would leave it at my rents house and get in the car with my Girlfriend to go home.

I chucked my rucksack (which had my works pager, my toolkit (to fit the screen) and a few other bits of paper and what not) and my helmet (which had my keys and gloves in) into the boot of the car.

By the time we had gotten home I had forgotten about the stuff in the boot.

Early Sunday morning we get up, and my girlfriend gets out of bed and goes to the Bathroom, she comes back in with a complete look of shock on her face with a note left by one of our neighbours saying our car and six other have been broken into.

I flew out of bed and downstairs to see the damage. They have literally ripped the drivers door off and then ransacked the entire car including the boot which has a lever in the front.

Everything was taken, including a pair of jeans, two pairs of trainers (our gym stuff) my rucksack and helmet, an expensive jacket and a few other bits and pieces.

I checked the car park and noticed about four other cars have had the same treatment.

THIEVING PIKEY BASTARDS!!!!

Called the police and they gave us a crime reference number and said not to touch the car as there may be evidence. They didnt come out yesterday so hopefully they will appear today.

Not that anything will be recovered...... Bad luck man, sorry to hear it.

So the police didn't even bother to come out to the scene? Typical...

I think you should go hunting with a baseball bat...

Good luck anyway whatever happens. Neutral

The boot of my mini is full of nice tools at the moment, the cyclinder head is on the front seat as well. Might take it out and put it up in the shed Embarassed.

Well the police finally came by for a look, and called in the CSI (Crime Scene Invetigation) who took a few prints including a large footprint on the side of the car where the twat obviously braced himself to pull the door.

There was also a fat hand print on the drivers window but the CSI bloke said it could be anybodies. A few more bobbies turnt up to look at the other cars that were broken into so hopefully they have the same prints and then we can say that the same person didnt obviously accientally lean on all the cars.

Insurance are being less than helpful saying that we are only entitled to £100 to cover losses. Even though we have to pay £100 excess for the door.

Thats with fully comp!!!

Mike.

Don't forget to change the locks on the bike. If they've got the keys they could come back and try to steal the bike.

Insurance companies are arseholes when it comes to contents cover, a 100 quid isn't unusual.

My wifes car was nicked and burnt out with her glasses, trainers, tennis racket, etc in the back and they said the same thing. You might be able to claim on the house insurance for some stuff though.
