There are various drain tubes that show up on bikes. From the fuel tank filler, the battery, airboxes and anywhere a fluid might collect that isn't wanted or needed. A manual will usually show the proper routing for them; I have 4 on my bike and they appear at the side of the lower fairing, behind the rear brake lever. They need to be kept unblocked and without kinks.

cheers all.
I just couldn't work out why one of the breather cables splits into two (using a three way splitter piece of plastic tubing) and so i thought that's either a bit of a pointless design or am i missing something?

Got any better pics showing where the offending 3 way hose is attached to the bike?

I think(!) The fat hose is connected to the crankcase breather - either straight off the engine or from the airbox (I seem to remember it being the second but it looks far too long). The thin hose with the division in it - short length goes to the carbs, long bit dangles out the bottom of the bike.

That's from memory of ripping someone else's bike apart from 5 years ago so don't shoot me etc.

Edit - actually that can't be right. Blow up the fat hose and see where the air comes out, it's probably the filler recess drain.
