what do you think to the new album?

I was hoping for more like Dude ranch or Enema but the whole album is more like AvA mixed with +44. Gotta admit I am mildly dissapointed, though after midnight is a fekking fantastic song!

Right, all the kids who are complaining that it's not another Enema or Take Off Your Pants and Jacket really do my head in. If you want to listen to that (personally I think it's their best stuff) then just go and put those albums on or go and listen to a whole host of other bands that sound like the earlier Blink stuff (All Time Low, New Found Glory, Bowling For Soup, Hit The Lights etc etc etc). I think Neighbourhoods is the natural progression from their self titled album from before the hiatus and after some extensive listening I've decided I really like it.

Musicians and bands mature with age (captain obvious is obvious) so it's to be expected that they're not writing songs about being at school and making cock jokes all the time. Sure there are exceptions to that (NOFX, Bad Religion etc etc) that seemingly make the same album for their entire careers but that can get very old very quickly.

Personally I really like Neighbourhoods and there are some definite bangers in there (Hearts All Gone, M.H. 4.18.2011). I think people just need to appreciate it for what it is, appreciate that they're not the same band they were 15/20 years ago and if they don't want to listen to it then don't and while you're at it stop slagging them off all over the internet seeing as you probably didn't buy the album anyway and downloaded it from some torrent site for free. (Not aimed at either of you two by the way, I just get wound up about this Laughing Laughing )

See, 6 months ago Mark said in an interview "the next album is us back to our best, think dude ranch but better" On that promise is what I was hoping for. Hence the mild dissapointment.
It is a Good album, but only 2 songs stand out on it for me.

And hey, Im an uber fanboy too Razz and I did purchase it Razz

I think its a great album. I worry about how many songs tom takes lead vocals on though. Im going to see them in brum july time so i will soon see if hes got his voice back, seeing as the performance he gave at reading in 2010 was awful....

Welcome to +44 & Airwaves Racer everybody.

This is HOW UP ALL NIGHT should have been done.

I was expecting Blink to do something like cheshire cat or buddha if Heart's All Gone is anything to go by.

Anyway, for those disappointed and wanted take off your pants and jacket lyrics - Here's my song that I produced 2 weeks ago.

Pop Punk Princess

I'll upload the instrumental version soon.

Luckily for me, New Found Glory's album is coming out next monday so I'll get my pop punk fix that way! Clearly, you can't expect blink182 to deliver their early noughties antics.

The best time I've ever had was at new found glory gigs! Arguably pop punk at its best. Saw them at Camden Electric Ballroom and it was such an intimate gig, yet the whole dancefloor was moving!

I've seen all time low at similar venues too, but even then, their sound is progressing to be more radio friendly. Same goes for simple plan.

I totally love Hit the Lights as well.

But in all honesty, for those craving pop punk, I'd suggest looking at a whole host of easycore bands.

Me Vs Hero (brit based)
Veara
Set Your Goals
Four Year Strong
A Day To Remember can have some very pop punk overtones

Zebrahead seem to stay to their roots too.
