Took out a one month policy after I had my crash, just to tide me over at the time. It was easy enough to set up, and got me going.
Then the crap began.
They put me down as Mrs. So I send an email explaining this and apparently it would get sorted.
Then asked for my driving documents, no problem. Sent - week passes and they asked me again, threatening to cancel my insurance. No worries I thought, royal mail must have messed up. Recorded delivery this time.
Few days later ANOTHER letter, this time threatening big time regarding cancellation. I ring up (on there £1+ a min phone line I must add), and they extended the time I had to send my documents "Out of Courtesy". Sent it special delivery (my f**king money) and they received it.
Now i have received an email saying that due to the policy change to "Mr" I'm to be charged £35.
Oh, and without me asking for it, they are going to take another 44 quid from my bank tomorrow for another month. What the? I never set a direct debit, so what the fuck do they think theyre doing?
Does anyone have any advice on this? On the letter its saying about cancelled insurance and how it can affect me when I do insure the VFR properly. Im so, so pissed off right now.
Avoid this shit company like the plague. Waste of fucking life. |

They are a online based company, so the simple answer is to scan and email and doc's they require.
Are you sure you did not select Mrs.... On the drop down box. Very easy for this to happen... Which is why you are always asked to check the details before clicking submit..
You can hardly moan about the cost of the phone call, when its clearly stated on their web site, as are ALL the FREE contact methods...
I guess you never read any of this as it clearly sates....
| Quote: | Our staff will not be able to help with the following:
• Making changes to your policy
We encourage customers to contact us by email as much as possible; as we are an internet based insurance company and therefore enables us to keep our premiums competitive |
As to the cost of changing details. I had the reverse.
Change of address and added a 2nd bike for 3 months ( value 10X to old bike)
ALL FOR NOTHING
but then again I did it via my user area......
As to the charge for another month......
| Quote: | A renewal notice will be sent shortly before the expiry of the policy. If you would like the policy to continue for another month, we will renew it automatically and collect the monthly premium. If you would like to cancel your policy, you will need to go on-line to cancel the policy in “Your Account” on or before the expiry date. |
FFS...... Read stuff, before you sign up, and check the details are correct.
To get the quote's took a google search for ebike and 2 clicks to get the info....... ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

AHH I now remember actually.. I had my sex changed last year. They turned my willy inside out. Hence I made sure i pressed Mrs.
Infact, no. I did double check before pressing submit. Having a women pull out on you 5 days previous makes you more wary of insurance details.
Explain to me this, if i paid a one off fee, that being the WHOLE point of the monthly insurance they provide, how can they automatically take money from me without me ever signing up to a direct debit? Fuck what it says in the small print, this is basic stuff.
All i need to know really is that when I go into my bank tomorrow and block eBike from taking any money, whats the worst that can happen. |

Which bit of that do you not understand....
It was not a one off fee. Very clearly stated in the wording of the policy.... Not even hidden in the small print.... Nice and out in the open.
You have signed up to a continuous authority now. Bit like a direct debit, but only YOU can cancel and it has to be direct with the company, not the bank...
Untill you abide by their SIMPLE rule of contacting (login to user area and press cancel ) and cancelling, then they can continue taking payments till the cows come home...
Your card provider will back up this advice.
How do I know..... Its what I have to tell people on a daily basis, who have failed to read T/C....
The worst that could happen.... They take the cash every month till you do as they simply ask you too......
Even reporting your card as lost/stolen WILL NOT stop payment being taken as they can simply request new card details from visa/mastercard and take them on the new card. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

I had them for my car, they're absolutely terrible, I had the same threatening to cancel my policy unless I sent them document X or document Y crap. I was very close to telling them I was going to come over to Bristol and present them in fucking person so they could make a 10,000,000 DPI scan or whatever the hell they needed that my photocopies weren't sufficient for.
Even better was when my policy neared the end and I wanted to know how many years no claims I had when I was pricing up a new one. They jerked me around for almost three weeks with 'we can't send you the proof as you can only use the NCB on one policy at a time' (I'd never asked for proof, I just wanted to know more specifically than 'five or more') until I made a formal complaint and said either they told me immediately or I was going Data Protection Act on their asses for their refusal to disclose the information they held about me.
What a surprise that the response came within the hour, signed by one of the useless customer service agents I'd already been dealing with! ____________________ Previous: 2002 Honda CB500 (sold), 2007 Suzuki SV650SK6 (crashed), 2005 Yamaha FZ6 Fazer (sold). Currently bikeless

I have had numerous monthly policies with Ebike and Ecar and never had a problem with them. When I get the email for my documents I use a camera to take a photograph (2MP) of my licence and no claims and then email it to them. They then reply in a few days to say it's all fine
The monthly policy quite clearly states it is on a rolling basis with them renewing the policy unless you cancel it and you also had to sign up to Sage Pay. If you want to cancel it go to their website and log into your policy. Go to the make changes section and choose don't renew my policy or similar. Job done. ____________________ Current ride - Yamaha MT-07 |
