Alright guys, just an idea, not sure if I'll act on it or what, but I was wondering about getting a pit bike as a second bike to my GS, just as a cheap second option to have a bit of fun of and have a different riding dimension.

However I don't fancy £200-£300 for insurance on top of the 295 I'm paying on the GS already, especially since I'd probably end up only riding it once or twice a week..

The question is could it be ridden under a 'ride other bikes', tpo, clause on my main insurance? (if I even have that, or can easily get it) or do insurers shy away from allowing pit bikes to be ridden on the same policy?

Hope that makes sense, and hopefully someone can either offer advice or provide insight into why it's not a great idea.

Cheers Mr. Green Thumbs Up

The "ride other bikes" part of the policy usually means a bike not owned by yourself, that the owner has insurance for - otherwise people would just register their 90 year old grandmother mother as the owner of the Hayabusa, and insure a C90 fully comp themselves. Check the wording on your policy.

I did think that and I'm not sure if I *actually* have that clause.. But I just thought it might state the other bike had to be a lesser cc/power output than the main insured bike and only ridden tpo.. I will read through though Thumbs Up

I'm guessing I wouldn't be able to put it in my dad's name? As he'd have to be insured on it etc?
reading fail *face palm*
