Now i know this has probably been asked loads before but...

I passed my CBT last saturday Very Happy and i've been searching for 125's for hours on end trying to find one i'd like. They all seem quite expensive though.

My budget is £1300 but that will need to include a helmet and boots. (i've got everything else)

What are people's suggestions?
I won't be doing mega mileage in it as i have a company vehicle, just mainly weekends.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions Very Happy

Yeh i've looked at those, i'm currently watching one not far from me on Ebay....however most of those i've found seem to be between the £1100 - £1700 mark.

125s are over priced.

However, it's not like there's a shortage of them, if you're prepared to lower your standards a bit - the issue may not be price but "one that I like". If you and everybody else are only prepared to consider YBRs and CGs, then of course they're going to hold their value.

Have you had a look on Gumtree? The cheaper ones tend to appear there.

Well I've decided to pay a little bit more and buy a CBF125.
I fell in love with it and I think it's perfect for me to learn on.
Felt really comfortable too.

When we were looking for Honda CBR125s we saw a few around the £900 - £1000 mark mainly with scratches and minor cosmetic issues. The CBR is great to learn on so it could be an option. Keep checking on ebay, hope you find something within budget soon. Smile

Get down to a large dealers and have a look at a few, try them out for size and style. I liked the cbf125 it felt right for me and for what I wanted. Then get on bike trader and see what you can find in your price range. I got all my kit of eBay, boots £30 jacket £35 gloves £15 and a helmet £40 the helmet was ok but with hind site you are better off going to a shop and getting the fit right. The other stuff you can pick up on eBay, a lot of good gear which is last seasons that shops want to shift.
