No, no one I know has ridden one, they aren't released (yet).

Thgere are bigger bikes like the 5 litre V8 boss hoss. However this is a special and not really classed as a production machine.

I'm not sure of the exact figures but the rocket III is supposed to do a standing quarter faster than a GSXR1000! Wink

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

It's a beast of a bike! Can't wait for your review. Is that a promise for BCF?

I believe the 0-60 is 2 seconds!

0-30 1 secs

0-100-7.2

Pistons are the same size as a dodge vipers

140bhp

147lb.ft 90% of which is available before 2000rpm

The engine on its own is 120KG!

3cylinder parallel 2300cc engine

Going to cost £12,000ish (and most have been sold allready I think)

I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing one of these streetfighter'ed up! that would be pretty damn spiffy...

Hi

Doubt that is the 0-60 time. It is VERY difficult to exceed 1g acceleration, as gravity is pretty much the limiting factor for grip which is 1g. That equates to a 0-60 time of about 2.7 seconds.

All the best

Keith

Saw it at the NEC, what a monster, recon it'll have its own insurance group, shaft drive, and a tyre like one of those donuts you see on top of a pole at american cafe's.

Top fuellers manage it in a LOT less

by 2.7 seconds they must be doing 150mph

These were quote from t.w.o. supposedly will pull and estimated 1.1/1.2 G when accelerating, when the reviews are done i'm sure we will find out how accurate they are, the this is this is a road legal unmodified version, just think of how far the engine could be pushed?

I'm 99% sure this is a full production bike, they had to build a new production line and buy allot of new equipment, its been in development for about 6 years, and i think it will sell priiiiity well, all those big numbers will have americans tripping allover themselves i'm guessing.. like i said i look forward to seeing how it goes though

Make me feel all warm and fuzzy* to think of this bike doing some serious ass kicking in the us and allover (even if it is aimed at the cruiser market i'm wont do triumph any harm!)

*Could also be drinking too much pepsi and my stomach is on the verge of meltdown.

They also have stuff like extended swingarms, and big bars out to back to stop them flipping Smile

If you compare this and say a busa or zx12, then the main differences to acceleration are going to be the longer wheelbase/weight.
Buy a busa and take it to somewhere like big CC and they can probably make it a fair bit faster for the difference you're paying between the two, you'll also be able to keep your original swingarm for when you want to go around corners Smile.

Hi

Not really that relevant. The amount of grip that a tyre can transmit is pretty much limited by gravity, which is 1g. Wheelie bars, extended swinging arms or the like do not affect the force of gravity. You can exceed 1g by changing the way tyres work, so that they key onto the road but this is not really relevant on road tyres (after all, they probably would not make it from the tyre shop back home).

All the best

Keith

No one is really sure as there isn't a dyno on the planet that has been built that can measure a top fuel engine's power output.

I've heard figure of 3000-4000 hp, (what I've been told, but I don't know if that's correct) but they almost incinerate themselves after each run and need to be rebuilt every run, so what's the point?

Useable hp would be a better option. Otherwise its a drag strip only kind of machine, isn't it?

So you mean you would actually want to ride one of these anywhere but the drag strip?
