Don't know about cool, but about the best modification I've done is put Renthal bars on the CG. I got Warped to do it for me, but they're, in my opinion, an improvement over stock.

Heated grips. Far from 'cool' (in both meanings of the word) but oh so worth it in winter.
Thumbs Up

My temperature gauge.

The bikes thermostat was broken so I replaced it with one of these. It didn't screw into the thermostat hole and it was about £40 to have an adaptor made up. The gauge lights up proper bright blue, kind of like the one in the pic, but better.

https://www.mcgillmotorsports.co.uk/images/uploads/LED_WATER_TEMP_GAUGE.JPG

So, cos I couldn't put it in the thermostat hole, I had to buy a little adaptor that goes in between the radiator hose from the head to the radiator. It is visible from the outside and loads of people have commented on how cool both the temperature gauge and especially the adaptor look, get me Wink Cool

This. A million times this.

Take your spangly levers and your carbon tax disc holder and shove them up your bum, it's all about the heated grips and the bar muffs. Cool

It looks a bit naff but I like my double bubble screen, its really tall and makes the bike much more comfortable to ride at speed. Im going to get a spare seat and have it reupholstered with a gel insert and snazzy cover so no more achey arse.

I've done minimal work on the Bandit so far, but I guess the most effective "modification" I've done so far is fitting the Stebel Nautilus horn Twisted Evil

edit : oh, and the HEL braided brake lines, and the Beowulf S/S end can Rolling Eyes

(The Renthal bar was the one "mod" that the previous owner did)

Gel seat, such an improvement to the plank Triumph fitted originally. However I like my comfort so much I'm seriously considering a Corbin or Sargent seat.

Also my Leo Vince cans. They sound so good and look so much better than the original Triumph ones.

Fork gaiters on my YBR - 40'000 miles and the last 3 winters and the fork seals are still original, never been changed (did the oil at 20k). No oil leaks whatsoever and the stanchions are pristine. Put some on my CBF too.

Debating heated grips on the XT but both pans have heated grips and just today ordered some muffs for the first time ever.
Thought i'd give em a go after seeing sickpup has some.

Sat nav is a must have and cigi sockets for charging stuff are done first on getting any new bike.

Upgraded pan headlight bulbs to 80/100w and replaced standard wires via relay

Not cool but I love my luggage rack. Laughing Best 'mod' was ditching the cheap Yamaha "Ohlins" for SS Hagon Nitros. Hmm my Renthal handlebars were also a good move.

baggster tank cover

planning on
a respray to black adding heated grips
getting a touring / double buble screen made (cant find one on the internet) . im thinking of recovering and adding a gel insert to the seat and looking for a luggage rack that will fit atm Smile
looking for a pre 93 GSXR front end for it (usd forks brakes and wheel) as the brakes are dire and the forks seem to be rubbish im my opinion

mostly stuff just to make the bike more useable Razz the old indicators wernt very bright and the mirriors were useless to me the nexxus can it had before killed the midrange power like nothing i have seen before ...........horrible thing

They last well, third bike that set has been on and are finally up for replacement.

Marmalade wrote:

What you didn't notice as it's hidden well away is the sub loom used for powering the two cigarette lighter sockets, the heated grips and has space and capacity to run things like...

Marmalade wrote:

but if there is a major problem with any of the add ons they are all individually fused and completely isolated from the rest of the bikes electrics.

This thread gives a good idea of how I have the extra electrics set up.

As to my bike there is the usual mirror extenders, heated grips, muffs, Heated jacket power point, GPS, 2 x Cigarette sockets, Baglux tank harness, Givi top box rack and panniers, high level brake light in top box, cargo net, Hi-vis vest under seat and 2nd one in top box. I only go for the practical mods.

Don't know what Sargent are like but I can state with no hesitation - Corbin are excellent. I switch between two on the ZZR, one with a pillion seat and one without. The single seat is scalloped fairly low and wide and is much better for hard/fast riding but can get a little uncomfortable over longish runs (300+ miles at a sitting) whereas the other is great for distance but not quite so good for climbing around on the bike.

As to my favourite mod on the 1100, it's either the twin headlight conversion or replacing the old coil packs with stick coils when I fitted the ignition advance. Not entirely sure which I would rate highest Thinking

Just simple stuff for me. Tail tidy + rim tape:

After:

Braided lines are the only "performance" mod I've done to it. I regret getting a rear line though, it's a bit too sensitive for my liking.

Somehow forgot a few mentions.

The strobe lights, hidden inside indicators at the front and tail lights.

Waterproof iphone holder screwed to the dash is great.

Air horn to really scare the shit out of people walking between buses and pulling out into you
