Does anyone know of any decent (not Harley specific) motorbike forums based in the USA?

I want to ask about hire bike prices, but a quick google search didn't pull up anything decent.

At least you cant get points, just a couple of days in jail Very Happy

Not sure if you know but police cars in usa have forward facing camera, so they can catch you speeding when you coming towards them.

You have to hire the biggest most vulgar Harley you can find. It's the law. And don't forget your bandana. Cool

do you know, if I was to hire a bike in the US this is exactly what I would do

especially in like California or Texas where it's too hot for race leathers and full face most of the year

it's what they were meant for

Exactly.

It's like hiring a tank-sized gas-guzzling convertible. You do what suits the roads, and over there a Harley would rule. Cool

When I was in Texas I took a Ford Excursion out for a test drive

it's a 4x4 type SUV, the biggest - it has a 6.8 L V10 PETROL engine, three full rows of seats and enough boot space to get an Albanian family into

absolutely awesome

mad as a box of frogs Wink

mind you the F350 pick up is pretty special as well Cool

I'm thinking of the Harley thing just because it's the US of A, but apart from the V-Rod I'm not sure I could stomach sitting on one of those ugly beasts. Sick

Anyway I'll probably find that I can't afford to hire a bike for more than an hour anyway. Enough for once round the block so I can say I've ridden a Harley in the US? Wink

I was thinking about renting a bike for when I go to Florida, but it seems you have to be at least 21. Sad

Here is what I found:

The Aprilia Forum is a pretty good place. It's in the US and if you post in the (very cheesily named) 'Aprilia Biker Bar - Motorcycle Talk Only' section they'll probably have some good tips on where to try. You have to register though to post! It could be worth a shot...[/url]

Cheers Danny - looks like a good link.

Will my UK driving license be okay? They say something about an international driving license; what's that?

Cheers for the link. It's a little bit out of the way (I'll be in San Diego) but it gives me an idea of prices.

$3000 damage deposit. Shocked
