I was looking for a good learner/friendly bike forum and this one seem's great!. Anyway Im Ellis im 27 and completed the cbt on Thursday and picked up a yamaha ybr 125 the same day! .
It's a 2011 model in red and I got it for £1,400, im the second owner and it came with a abus lock, topbox and engine guard!. I am well happy as they are going for a lot more money!.
I've been out on the bike twice now and the second time I am defiantly getting better, I was struggling with the gear changes but seem to be sinking in as I get used to the bike, I still have a lot to learn!.
The only thing that's bugging me is tailgaters when im doing the speed limit and people pulling out in front of me!, when I drove I never had this problem, but reading this forum it seems to be the l plates or just the world of being a biker!.
Anyway I am LOVING riding a bike!, so much better then being stuck in a car! and the running costs just brilliant!. Im planning once i've saved up to take the das on my ybr then get a bigger bike and put mine up for sale.
Ill get some piccies up of the bike tommrow .

If you do a search for all the topics you have mentioned you will see it's totally normal in the world of biking. Actually the fact you are now so aware on the road, you will notice the numpty's on the road whether you ride or drive. Awareness is key!!!

Yup, L plates are a red rag to a White Van Man.
Ride well out in your lane, and remember that speedos read over, quite badly over in some cases, so an indicated 30 is more like 27 or 28. 33 or 34 will be a real 30, or close enough that you'll never be prosecuted for it.
Worse case, pull over, let the nobber past... then filter past them at the next set of lights, rinse, repeat. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Hi,
Welcome to forum and the wonderful world of bikes
I did my CBT on a YBR, good fun! and I must congratulate you on a wonderful deeal you got on yours
Looks like your already experiencing the great car drivers! This is something you will get used to and become second nature in watching for.
Ride safe and remember those shoulder checks! - I always catch myself doing them in the car... when I'm a passenger aswell ____________________ CBT - 01/05/2011 | Theory - 07/05/2011 | Mod 1 - 01/07/2011 | Mod 2 - 08/07/2011
