I booked up my mod 1 last week and today was the day, I've only ever seen the test on youtube so it was all a bit nervy if I'm honest.

I got up this morning, out at 6 ish to get down the car park to practice some U-Turns.

Get to the test center at 8.30 a.m for my test.

Everything was perfect until that damn swerve.

The wind was pretty strong and I only made 47 kph (1 minor) but worse, my foot just touched a cone by the smallest amount.

I thought to myself I had screwed it after everything was going so well. I looked behind me expecting to see a cone rolling down the 'road' but no, it was still planted and on it's spot, I could not believe it!!!! Thumbs Up

Anyway, round I go again and gave the Baby Vara all It had in 2nd, into the wind and got 50 kph.

Sorry for the long post but it was a big deal to me as I had no instruction cept Youtube Laughing and really thought I would fail.

TL; DR
I passed my MOD 1 Very Happy Thumbs Up

So happy right now and I'm almost there.

Hi, and Well Done! It's sounds like you were quite lucky, the rest of your test must have been spot on. I think you can take one L off..not really, but soon you can take both off? When's the Mod 2 booked for?

btw, not that long a post..

Thanks FJ,

It really meant a lot to get that pass mate.

But, yea, everything was spot on before that touch on the cone, it was the barest brush though.
Stupid of me though, because I ride with my break foot at an angle for some reason and it kinda sticks out a bit. (until I need the brake of course Wink )

MoD 2 will be booked pretty soon I think.
I've only been riding for a couple months so I'll get a bit more road under my belt then go for it. I think (and I could be wrong) but that is the major hurdle out the way.

Book it straight away, you can book it for in a few weeks time, doesn't have to be this week..
When I booked my theory, I booked it so far in advance, that I'm still waiting for it, also can't get a cancellation outside of my working hours. I'll probably have to wait til the weather is better before even thinking about about Mod2. If I could, i'll attempt them all today, but now I have to wait til after my theory (04.11.11!!)

Summary, book it! Book it now! You're sat at your PC..!

Congrats on the pass, I believe you're allowed to touch, but not to knock them over. Mod 2 is a piece of cake in comparison, just enjoy the ride.

Congratulations. I did a hour and half on the course a few months before I did my Mod 1. Just to get a feel of it. Made me know what I needed to brush up on. Everything else was learnt and taught by myself, these guys and youtube. Good feeling you know you can pass by your own abilities!

Good Luck for Mod 2

Yea, that's what I thought. (very lucky)

I was under the impression that if you knock a cone you've had it BUT like I say, mine didn't move and I guess the examiner either never saw it (don't forget, he's many yards from the swerve for obvious reasons Smile ) or decided to turn a blind one. All he said was it was 47 kph and round I go again.

When I got back in the waiting room an instructor there with another guy asked how I did, I said I wasn't sure and he said it looked fine to him as he watched me from the window and he never saw it either.

I'm still grinning like a Cheshire cat here. Thumbs Up
