I recently passed my DAS and bought a VFR 800 FI-X that came with a brand new Qualifier II rear and a worn Qualifier II Front.

I've done about 1,500 miles on it and needed a new front. I'm keen on a set of BT 023's based on a recommendation from a mate so I fitted the Bridgestone on the front and was planning on waiting for the rear to run out and then fitting the BT-023 Rear.

I'm still scrubbing the front in and have only done about 30 miles on it today but it's a revelation. I think the front most have been really squared off because it feels so much sharper with the way it drops into a corner.

Given all my miles are in London and I'm new to big bikes so really not caning it at all do you think I should scrap the rear that has life in it to get the matched pair or am I better carrying on with a softer rear (which I know you're not supposed to really do) and replacing it when I need to.

I can afford to swap it now if I really should, but I'd rather not waste a perfectly good tyre if I can get away with it. I'm not interested in what would shave half a second off a lap on track as I'm not riding anywhere near the limit of my bike or the tyres but I didn't really expect to notice much difference and yet it's completely noticeable how much easier it drops into a corner now and I wondered if I should just swap out the rear now?
