Hey guys, wasn't sure if this came under Workshop or what so I chucked it in General.

unfortunately I've just come off my first bike ('01 Gilera Coguar) and been told it's going to cost me the value of the bike (£550-600 ish) to have it repaired. It's just had the forks rechromed about 3 weeks ago and pretty much everythin else was in pretty good nick, is on only about 950 miles now but due to the cost of having it put back together I've been told by two seperate peole I'd easily get my money back breaking it and selling it for parts as they're a bugger to get spares for.

Main bits like engine, frames, forks, rear shocks and both wheels are still god and most of the plastic trims and bits of fairing are still good so I'm wondering if anyone's got any advice about breaking it, the guy down the breakers said I could easily do it meself and save a bit there and sell all the bits on ebay. Anyone got any tips on getting started with it? only trouble at the moment is I broke 3 bones in my right foot and am in a cast for 3 weeks xD

Cheers in advance for any wise words etc, oh and if anyone wants to buy the whole thing off me as a doer-upper or anything like that give us a bell

Cheers again

Phil
