Tax rebate

Woohoo, the tax man owes me money for once!

Only £300 or so, but enough by my reckoning for a pair of kevlar jeans to go with my current (borrowed) leathers which are great for a blast, but impractical if I'm riding somewhere for something.

Also enough for my tests, if not much training to go with them necessarily. So I will be looking to pass before the end of the year hopefully (once the cheque arrives and clears I'll be booking my theory).

Are there any good training schools in the Shrewsbury area? I'm currently unemployed, so money is tight, but at the same time I know the money will probably be well spent.

I received a rebate as well. Absolutely NO idea why - my circumstances have not changed at all. Still, never look a gift horse in the mouth. Very useful at the moment because I am anticipating some significant bills from BMW for "attention to the drive belt and rear bearings" on the CS. I have already lashed out a bit on a new rear tyre and an Odyssey battery + Ctek charger

Did you just get paid? Am I wrong in thinking they pay out after the end of the financial year? So in April, but afaik it takes a few months for you to actually get it.

Just had the letter come through telling me they owe me, apparently the cheque will follow within 14 days of the date of the letter.

It takes ages though, years ago I actually chased them up about it as they owed me about £1500, and from the end of the tax year I think it took until about this time of year before I received anything. So now I just leave it, it's not worth the hassle of chasing them, they'll pay up eventually.
Bet they wouldn't be happy to wait as long though, if I owed them money. Gits.

Grr they owe me money too but told me I have to fill in a tax return to get it back and I cant get the system to work
