I thought I saw it bouncing across the grass, I hoped I was wrong.

You know it's bad as there's been no replays.

As said, saw his helmet bouncing across the infield. Looked like a very bad crash, but I hope he's ok.

EDIT - He's now conscious.

If it rains we might not have enough people for the podium.

Simmo's hair is better than Arai.

[edit] race cancelled

Race cancelled!
Crying or Very sad

Anybody else feel very sick seeing that helmet bouncing across the grass? Until i saw the snapped strap flat up i thought his head was inside it. Seeing a rider face down on the track with no helmet is just vile, especially with dan wheldon dieing so recently.
He may be concious but the impact was hard and if wasn't in his head it hit his back. The speed hump might have saved him but he might have internal bleeding or spine injuries so concious doesn't neccisary mean much. Really hope he's okay though!

125's was great as i hate it when the championship is wrapped up before the last round.
Moto2 wasn't a great race with no marquez or smith, but happy Luthi finally bagged one and the champsionship is still open to some extent

Little bastards, how disrespectful. when the race is cancelled out of respect to a rider in critical condition I would not expect the crowd to be rawring in dismay

I think there are 3 possible outcomes:
Tomizawa
Wayne Rainey
Robert Kubica

Et's be honest you wouldn't wish any of them on someone you didn't like, nevermind the loveable clown!

Yeah, they clearly weren't briefed about the whole situation. I saw it and initially thought crutchlow, aoyama and rossi cos they were having a ding dong battle. Then i noticed the lid on the grass... then the replay!
To cancel the race out of respect for a guy fighting in hospital was the right thing to do.

Worst still, to be Fausto Gresini at this very moment must be a sickening feeling... having to go through the ordeal again of one of his riders being in a critical situation once again.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Marco. I gave up religion and going to church on sundays for motorsport and riding, and if anything, I can't think of a better reason to pray other than now!

I keep refreshing crash.net every so often to see. Usually things are announced asap... like with the untimely passing of tomizawa and craig jones.

You wouldn't want to wish anything like that to anybody... I can probably think deep down, the likes of Lorenzo and Pedrosa must be having that sickening feeling considering the notions they've been through earlier in the season.

Crash.net, or the Moto GP site will be the two most likely places.

To be fair i've been to plenty of bike races where people only turn up for the feature race then leave right away. So there will be people there who have paid £200 for a grandstand seat and seen 3 laps. Almost all of the crowd won't have seen the accident and a fair few might not know who anyone bar Rossi is.

I'd have postponed the race until later in the day or possibly tomorrow as they did when it rained in Qatar. Cancelling the race won't help simmo. The only reason i can possibly see for doing so is that the medical team have their hands full and wouldn't be able to cope with a turn 1 pile up.

Interestingly, anybody know the outcome of Axel Pons? He was lying motionless on one of the turns IIRC in the penultimate lap of the Moto2 race... hence red flag.
