I'm looking at selling my phone (Desire HD), I miss my iPhone and want it back Sad.

I'm trying to avoid eBay, as they want too much money, and it doesn't seem worth the hassle anymore.

I've had a look at those phone recycle places, and they offer around £130-£140. Going on eBay for around £200ish, give or take.

I've stuck it up on Gumtree, but never used it before, so no idea how good it is.

Are there any other sites that are free or eBay like?

Only £130 on there Sad.

Bit worried about going to those places, just incase they find something wrong with it (one of the side buttons sticks a bit), and they'll either give me a stupid offer, or charge me to send it back to me. Mazuma don't do that though! Just a shame its not as much Sad.

Been there, done that.

I sold a phone not too long ago, bloke wanted to return it after 3 weeks because a button didn't work when it arrived Shocked

Told him to return it for repair and return to him.

Never heard from again.

Another one bought and returned 2 weeks later as it didn't have bluetooth Rolling Eyes

other half just sent one to envirophone as selling anywhere online is either risky or not worth the hassle

Thats what I'm worried about, don't want the hassle. I got lucky when I sold my iPhone last year, but don't think it will happen again on eBay!

Have a look at one of the online buyers. I've used mazuma a couple of times and been spot on.
Made the same or more money than selling on ebay and paying the fees, no getting robbed by dodgy buyer and not paying ebay/paypal some of your hard earned

Carphone Warehouse are doing a trade in thing at the moment. They have offered me £44 quid for my N97 which seems to be the going rate for these places although people are selling the for £100+ on eBay. Like you I don't fancy the risk associated with it so might just take it on the chin. If you come across a site that offers a good deal keep us posted. Smile

Sell it on ebay, stating cash on collection only. It narrows the market, but generally if people are willing to spend £200 on something then they should be willing to drive 20 miles to get it, and test it before taking it away.

I don't sell anything on ebay anymore, unless it is cash on collection. But mostly I seem to sell things through forums like this one!
