Indictor fault finding

With my test tomorrow this is the last thing I needed

Basically the indictors are either very delayed in coming on, or they don't go on at all!

Sometimes it is the left indicators that don't come on, then ten minutes later they work and its the right ones that don't work.

Then sometimes they both work???

Battery is fine, flasher relay is grand as I borrowed one just to check if it was only my relay that was buggered.

My dad reckons its water in the electrics as this does seem to be problem when the bike get soaked!

Any ideas? Oh n ps can you use hand signals in your bike test????

You could open up the switch and try some contact cleaner and check the connecter block lower down the loom. If the indicators only have one wire, they'll be earthed on the frame which might be the next place to check.

I'm sure you can just use hand signals for the test but you will have to remove the indicators. If they're fitted, they have to work. On the road, I sometimes use both.

The switch casing was full of water! I cleaned it out and bunged vaseline into it as it helps keep the connection between contacts doesn't it???
