Hey guys!

Just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Joe and I am 19, I also live in South Essex, UK. I passed my CBT a couple of weeks ago and I have just bought my first bike (ended up going for a nice Honda CBF125 in White). I can't wait to get on the road and start riding properly.

Anyway yeah, just thought i'd say Hey!

-Joe.

Hey mate.

Not got the CBF yet, but as soon as I get it (Monday!) I'll take it out for a spin and let you know!

Thumbs Up

Welcome!

CBFs a top bike to learn on. Just watch those tyres if they're stock... They're not massively grippy in the wet.

Good bike though, and I never felt the need to change the tyres, just take it a little easier in the wet Thumbs Up

Cheers guys! Yeah, the tyres are the one thing that I am not keen on about the bike... they're very slim aren't they. I love the riding position though, it feels so natural to me, very comfortable.

One question to you guys that have a CBF, how much (on average) does it cost you to fill up? I've heard the fuel economy is brilliant?

Cheers!

Hey Joe (where ya goin' with that gun in your hand?) Wink

Hello from Rayleigh!

The CBF is AWESOME for fuel economy. Check out my fuel stats here:

https://www.fuelly.com/driver/cbf125rider/cbf125

As for tyres, if they are ContiGo! then you will be just fine. If they are TVS, they are awful. Most new 2011 CBF's *should* be fitted with ContiGo!'s as standard now - mine was. If you are unlucky enough to end up with TVS, they are awful in the wet, very dangerous IMO. ContiGo!'s are a bit hard to come by, especially in the weird sizes that the CBF is specified for. People have had success fitting Michelin Pilot Sporty's - sizes 90/80-17 front and 110/80-17 rear. Also an excellent tyre (had them on my previous bike).

You might also be interested in my blog ('www' button down below) - I am trying to build up a record of my experiences with the bike, especially technical and mechanical matters such as servicing etc.

Ah, a Rayleigh guy eh? Wink I'll be up that way on Monday visiting my girlfriend, so maybe see you around! Haha. I will double check the tyres, and if they are the TVS, then I will replace them ASAP (as its getting pretty wet now).

Thanks for the link to the fuel economy thing! I will check that out in a second! Thumbs Up

Cheers pal!
