I should know this having swatted up and passing my theory only a couple of weeks ago, but I was doing some MOD 2 training the other day when my instructor didn't get through a set of lights , I just carried on (as instructed). He caught up pretty swiftly and said I shouldn't be in the bus lane I was using, so I moved out. As we were on the way to my MOD 1 test (which I passed) I forgot to quiz him on it afterward.

Below is a similar sign but the only time shown was the 4 - 7pm. I thought that as it was 9:30am the bus lane was not in operation and I should use it...

My MOD 2 time is 15:35 so this could be quite important to get this right.

Thoughts appreciated.

If there is no motorcycle logo shown then you can use the bus lane outside the times shown. So if it says 4pm-7pm then you can use it up till 4pm and after 7pm.

I hope the test went well. We've seen someone get failed for not using a bus lane outside of its restricted hours, so the answer is: read the sign, believe it, and do as it says. It's one of the few things which you could effectively argue the toss about afterwards, since the sign and time of the test are known.

Cheers guys, so I was right to use it then, at least I'll know...

Test wasn't today(wish it was) it's in a couple of weeks at 15:35 on the 26th Embarassed if we go down that route I'll have to keep an eye on the time then.

Had a day off today so went out for a run round some of the routes am likely to use, to re visit things like those bus lanes and a one way street I know about but not been down with the instructor. Quite enjoyed run around the area despite the wind Mr. Green

Cheers

You can only use it outside the times printed on there.

My local bus lane on commute is 7am-7pm, so I cant use it between those times.

Just to add, the bus lanes down this way also include motorbike access so if you come across any other bus lanes then have a good look at the blue sign to see if you can use it anyway...very useful around here during rush hour!
