Pitbike Chain Question

Okay, ive bought a 125cc Pitbike, and the chain is there, its the right pitch and length, except theres no split link, apparently the man i bought it off lost it, and i was wondering if theres a way to use this chain without buying a split link?

Use an elastic band or paper clip wrapped around the two ends?

Or just buy a split link - eBay or BMC Express will have them or you can try your local friendly bike shop.

Put a piece of string through the holes in the 2 end links, then tie them together.


Don't actually be stupid enough to do this.
