This is a pretty specific question/rant and i apologise for making the thread , but I am pissed off.

I now have my GPZ waiting for me and all i need to do is add the bike to my existing policy....with one simple payment. Ebike are completely 'online' and so you'd think making the payment would be a breeze. However, once tap my details in and hit 'make payment' it takes me to a blank white page...nothing to be seen. I've tried a different card and different computer, no luck.

I cannot call them as it's a bank holiday so office hours are closed. So in a nutshell, I have a bike waiting to be taken out and my online specialist insurser doesnt want to take my money. Does anyone have some technical advice, i.e could it be something to do with a firewall or something related??

Enjoy the bank holiday.

You don't mention what browser you are using - but if its IE7 or above, try deleting all cookies, shut down IE, re-start IE and have another go.

If you are using FireFox, make sure you have the latest version and do: Edit, Preferences, Privacy, Clear Recent History - then start again.

If the website is using Flash or Java, make sure you have the latest versions installed.

i had the exact same problem...

and i have the answer for you..

basically you need to call them, i appreciate its frustrating as they're closed and you want to go out today. just wait until tomorrow, you don't wana run the risk of getting done for riding without insurance.

call them up and pay on the phone but when you do make sure to check they haven't already taken payment (twice in your case as you've attempted two times), they can use your quote ref, or by now it should be a policy ref.

don't call them on the number given.... i have a number wrote out at home from some guy in sales/payment who called me without with-holding his number, thus i use this number if i have issues.

will be back at 1630, long time i know but can't do anything from here.

you know they're a shite insurance company right? the reviews all over the place slate them big time. i only went with them cos they were almost a grand cheaper than the next cheapest (shky high, don't ask), as long as they get me a year ncb i couldn't care less about their CS.

anyway let me know if you want the number

cheers mikester. Fortunately, it all worked late this morning. I suddenly realised the spelling of my surname might confuse them, so i tried it in various ways and bingo...it worked. Really silly tbh as this is the only time i've ever encountered a company not accepting the way i write my surname (odd i know, but i don't really want to publish my surname!)

I had tried the payment many more times than two Mike! but rest assured (hopefully) it states no payment was taken plus when it did work i had to go through another security password check.

BTW the company is frustrating for any real human contact. Their centres are closed and even if it was not bank holiday, £1 a minute! Oh and i wouldn never ever ride without insurance. I've put too much hard work into getting to this point of riding a bigger bike to suddenly lose it all.

Tried email contact. Always worked well in the past.

One thing I would recomenend....

OP.
Contact your bank to see if any of the attempts have gone through. Its amazing how many times you get a blank page that the transaction has actually been processed and all you are doing is getting more debits on your account....
That goes for ANY retailer.
