Good luck. You'll be fine. Just remember to listen to what the examiner says and to do your observations.

Just keep your cool and relax. Listen to what the examiner says, and ask questions if you're not completely sure.
Remember to look where you want to go, and keep your observations up (remember the right lifesaver before the U-turn).
When it's the slow ride, ride the clutch and use the rear brake. Try not to look at the cones because your line will go slightly diagonal, look where you want to go.

For the high speed exercises, they're not that difficult. Keep the feet tucked into the bike and try to get about 20mph out of the corner in 2nd, give it beans but don't change gears and you'll hit the speed easily.

Also use the mirrors when setting off/slowing down Thumbs Up

Aside from those tips, good luck with it and, have fun Smile

Good luck mate, I hope it all goes well for you!! Thumbs Up

While I'm here I will add that I'm booking mine VERY soon.

I shot over to Erith test center again today (awesome roads over that way Very Happy ) just to have a look at the cone spacing and so on and there were peeps there doing their training.

The 600's are way smaller than my Baby vara Laughing In stature I mean..

I left the test center after chewing some fat with some of the guys there and tried a few practice U-turns and I am so crap at them I cannot believe it.
I did like the cone spacing on the swerve though, I hope that wont be a problem as it seems like loads tbh.

I've spent all my time practicing road riding, having fun and so on and I now need to practice the slow stuff so much.

Remember the test starts when the gates open.So don't forget your checks when pulling out of your parking spot. The same apply s at the end of the test .it does not finish till you park the bike up.so remeber checks also when the examiner opens the gates..

helpful tip :park bike facing forwards out of the parking space before test. And ride straight in at the end.less to think about.

And good luck Thumbs Up

Never mind mate, just look at it as though it was a cheap lesson. You'll be all the more ready next time now you know what's expected.

Practising the U-Turn is a must, nerves will hinder you, so make sure you're above par. You'll only have to do it once, then you'll rarely U-Turn again in your riding life!

I did my test pre mod1 and 2.
I had read that a lot of people failed on u-turns, so I practised, practised, practised until the bike could practically do them itself!

At least next time nothing in the mod1 will come as a surprise, and it is valuable experience if nothing else.

I was doing the same a couple of times practising for my Mod 1. You need momentum before you turn - as you obviously know ! Try not to get too downhearted - you'll be more experienced next time and will no doubt nail it !

Well done for passing. Next time you are with your instructor have him look at the clutch adjustor as turning it to 3 made a hell of a difference for me in the slow manouevres. It was set at 1 i think when I started and I couldnt get the bite right. Made it really hard work, I was jerking all over the bloody place, feet down, over the white line, dodgy grabbing of front brake as I was well confused by it.....totally shit!!

A couple of clicks of the little wheel and I was confident and had a great ride home. The things you learn eh.
