Probably an easy fix.

Its bound to be the carb O-Rings, if its not then parts start to get expensive.

Google GK76A Carb problems and you'll find many, MANY answers.

The engine fault could be as simple as a blocked jet or an air leak on one of the carbs, the rest I dunno sounds like a decent amount of money to spend on something that needs work (or maybe I'm just tight!!)

Oh, and yeah, its WAY too much money. You can pick up a broken 76A for around £400-£500 usually.
