Hi all, got a little bit of a problem on my hands, I need a 125cc bike which meets DSA standards for doing my test on, unfortunately none of the bikes I own or have access to are suitable. If anyone has a 125 which they would loan out (of course i would get fully comp insurance) I would only need it on two separate days for a few hours. Any bike which is no larger or smaller than 125cc and can manage 62mph constantly. I am based in Southampton so hopefully someone may be able to assist. I think it would be worth a couple of pints... Very Happy
Thanks all

Bollocks. You can do your test on any bike that makes less than 14.6bhp. In fact, I did my test on a Honda NS125R which was tuned and made more than that. The examiner never asked. As long as the bike is a 125cc, looks to be in good repair and isn't blatantly illegal (a converted MX bike for example) then you should be OK...

(... Unless you're doing a DAS in which case you'll need to borrow a 500 from a training school...)

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

No reason why you can't do your test on an RS. I think what you have heard it isn't advisable because of the smaller turning circle for doing a U turn.

You can do it on an RS though. It just takes confidence and practice.

You can only do your A2 on a bike that has a top speed of 62.5mph or more. Otherwise you'll get the shite A1 licence that means you can only ride learner legal bikes until you do another test.

All the 125's I have access to will not make that speed without some major work. As I am not doing my test through a training school I need to provide a bike myself. On the plus side instead of costing £500+ its cost me just under £200 incl 2 hours of 1 to 1 training with a DSA approved instructor who made my life a living hell for two hours but taught me a few things.. So any one with a 125 suitable I look forward to hearing from you Thumbs Up

There is actually a note next to the RS125 saying "must provide evidence of restriction" or something along those lines.

SBS 125, no good for the test. I have checked the list, if any of the bikes I have access to were any good for the test I would not be asking if I could borrow one. Thanks
