My CG had it's MOT done yesterday where it failed the first time but passed straight after they put new tyre on and replaced a bulb in the rear light.

Saw this link in another thread so I just thought I'd have a nosey at my bikes MOT history. Got down to yesterday and saw this:

They must have gone on one hell of a ride to put 128871 miles on it in those couple of hours!

Going to head down there tomorrow to sort it out.

On the plus side, at least you now know your bike is capable of 50,000+ miles an hour.. the hayabusa has nothing on you! Laughing

I had a similar mistake about four years a go. Instead of 7000 odd miles the guy wrote down 43000 miles, he had looked at another bike's clocks. He had to do the MOT again to correct the records. I always wondered if the person who owned that bike after me checked the MOT history online whether it would have looked 'fishy'?

It makes not one jot of difference.

My KLE had no speedo cable and went through three MOTs with exactly the same mileage (4,700). The guy doing the MOTs always used to comment that I didn't seem to have got many miles out of the three or four sets of tyres he'd fitted to it since the previous year.

I believe this data may be used when they check mileage in HPI checks?
My first bike came with MOT certificates that on examination had the miles going backwards a few time.

The shop only gave me them a few weeks after. Not sure why they did.
But I was young and innocent then and didn't want the hassle of making a fuss - dodgy dealer it turned out as they made a big fuss when my side stand broke from an obviously pre-existing crack.

Give them a ring ASAP. They can change it on the system. I had this happen earlier this year and the garage changed it and posted me a new certificate.

Think they only have 7 days in which to do that.

Indeed.

I have an import bike that has been MOT'ed every year for 7 years with 14,000 odd km on it.

And my CG, well I replaced the clocks and did MOT and then after I re-did my clocks to show what the bike had actually done. So it had gone up 17k then decreased by 15k or whatever I had calculated. Luckily I took down the number of the box before i dismantled, and took one of the new box before I started using it Smile
