Some of you may recall, i had a Longjia 50cc bike and had a little scare when I felt the bike rear wheel bounce at 40 mph. I didnt come off but, it scared the hell out me ! I sold the bike (a 2008) for just £350 but, I have bought a brand-new 11 reg Lexmoto Tornado 50cc for £800. I collect it tomorrow Smile The dealer Icluded a full face brand-new helmet. I am still scared of coming off but, I love the freedom and economy of biking. I dont regret selling the longjia cose I wasnt keen on it being a chinese bike. But Im back ! The bike is ready for me to ride out of the showroom tomoz (Cant Wait) but "my God) am I going to take it easy!

Sorry to laugh but this instantly became my new favourite thread.

On the bright side, Lexmoto are held in high regard with respect to other Chinese bikes. They are better supported than most and I've certainly heard fewer horror stories about them.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it for many miles.

It's not often I actually feel the need to do a face palm but the urge is very strong indeed.

Well, it's a Chinese bike, so it's only really as good as your maintenance skills. On the up side, consider it a learning opportunity.
Lexmoto do form a damn good spares network, though; you can buy parts for all of their bikes, and they're not horrendously expensive, either. Their customer support's not too bad, either.
In a nutshell, you could've done better, but you could've also done far worse.

As a general rule of thumb, if you're paying £800 for a brand new bike then it's practically guaranteed to be Chinese Laughing

Oh dear.

Lexmoto do indeed buy Chinese bikes and just slap their own branding on them. They used to sell it as the Rhythm under their Pulse brand. Either way, it's just another Chinese scooter with unknown build quality.

The Tornado is listed as £860 plus £71 first registration and tax costs. Did you get it for less, or are you "rounding down"?

However, the good news is that Lexmoto are trying to build a brand and might give some sort of warranty support on it. It's even vaguely possible that they select bikes to sell based on quality rather than low wholesale price (but I wouldn't put money on it). They will at the very least have parts available, as they also run ChineseMotorcyclePartsOnline.

Good luck with it.
