My soon to be 8 year old son has been asking for a board for his birthday / Christmas.

I've never had one and neither has he.

He's a little clumsy and uncordinated but is a bit of a demon on a scooter. Its not for the purly for skate parks but more to use going to school, up and down the road, back garden and maybe some grassy places.

I don't want to spend shed loads, I never realised how expensive they can be?

Shocked

Whats the best bet; short board, long board, 3 or 4 wheels?

Mountain boards look cool but maybe too big and a little OTT for a first board?

Any suggestions are welcome.

road / skate park ones are no use on grass
had a go on an off road one last year 20ft = serious injury's occurred
used to be good as a kid when they first came out years ago
no idea whats currently good or bad but I suggest a local skate shop to fill you in as to whats best

Haha, job done!

I can remember getting my first skateboard when I was like 10/11/12.

It had like a firework pattern on and pink wheels.

So I got the sandpaper out thinking I'd get rid and then decided to make it look like I had been 'Grinding' down rails and the like...

Laughing

Thumbs Up
