The site is hosted on a Unix server on which 1st Jan 1970 is the dawn of all existence. It works by counting the number of seconds since that date making the current date & time 1323212657. So when for some reason the date field is empty in the database it returns that date. I think it might happen when a post or thread gets deleted. So it updates who the last poster was and what the last thread was, but when it tries to find out what time the post happened it gets nothing in return as it doesn't exist.

Anybody dumb enough to be hosting a website on a 32bit computer gets laughed at for being 25 years out of date?
Most modern computer stuff tends to only last about 5-10 years of constant usage before the mean time between failure of the components means it dies. Sure components last very well these days, but computers have a shit load and it only takes one to break to cause another etc.

Millenium bug all over again - but for real this time. The clocks would go back round to 1901 due to the integer size

They reckon there'll be some 32-bit shit still lying around by then, but we've got until "15:30:08 on Sunday, 4 December 292,277,026,596" until it happens again with 64-bit computing... lol

Old Thread Alert!

The last post was made 14 years, 123 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful?
