Protecting chrome exhaust and whole bike, ACF 50?

I just got some ACF50 but apparently when applied to the exhaust, it will smoke off when the exhaust is hot so it wont even protect it.
What is the best way to protect an exhaust over winter?

Also, how do i apply the ACF50 and where? I was going to clean the whole bike, then apply turtlewax to the paintwork and exhaust, then apply ACF50 to the chrome wheels, spokes, exhaust, engine, handlebars, some electrical connectors etc.
