If i have say 3 bikes used by the company and want to see what where they are any cheap solutions for this.

Tried some of the tracking companies and they charge a fortune any other suggestions.

The only thing i could think of the the google tracking if i got an android phone with unlimited data plan and hard wired it somewhere on the bike?

There's quite a few solutions. Various ways you can do it with cheap phones - including having them text you etc, rather than having to have a big data plan.

Or search for 'GPS tracker' on ebay and the like to get a wide variety of options.

Biketrac is really good - recovery seems to be top notch and the web UI shows a trail of all journeys taken including average speed etc. Can also set it to text numbers in the event of the bike going down.

£99 a year isn't too bad either (you wouldn't get a phone and data plan for that)

my old Nokia 5800 had Google Latitude installed, shows you where your friends are etc, wifey used it to make sure i was moving on rideouts.

i.e. if i stayed in position x for to long and didn't answer my phone it was time to start panicing.

free from a software point of view, only need something that can use data,

Plenty of trackers on eBay that use PAYG sims in them.

All you need to do is wire it to your power source.
