I'm running out of patience, I have passed my cbt and have been looking for bikes ever since....Everytime I find one in the paper/ebay/gumtree I call up and it's gone, that when a 125 DOES actually come up.

I live in Cornwall, and would be willing to go as far as plymouth to get one ): If anyone knows of anything let me know :') thanks!

Chin up buddy, you'll get one Thumbs Up Though make sure to take it steady when you do, go down some quiet roads just to get used to riding again.

Think your search is a bit too localized though, I had to travel 100miles to go get mine Laughing
Try expanding your search to Exeter, I've seen quite a few ads for bikes down there.

Yeah I am looking pretty local I guess, It's just it's so costly, getting bikes delivered, and train fare/bus etc from cornwall to go and look at them ( don't tihnk I could bring myself to buy one without looking first ) :')

Nah you definitely don't want to buy one without looking at it first - I just took a punt and took the trip down there with my uncle's van and thankfully was happy enough with the bike to buy it Smile

A CBR's not too shabby for a first bike either haha (: one of the benefits of having a family member with a van as well! I'll have to use shiply I think.

Is there a bike dealership near you that sells new bikes? If so, might be worth checking it out. Having a brand new bike as their first isnt always to everyones taste, but it can work out to be a lot cheaper in the long run than a used bike, especially if you take it out on finance.

There are a few, but we're talking a lot of money for a 125 here, more than I can ever save up, even the used bikes they sell are extortionate. Confused

The CBR's quite nice, but rather tiny for a 6ft3 lad like myself Laughing

An alternative is that you get a quote set up before you check out a bike (that has MOT+Tax) and then insure it whilst there and ride it back Smile Only if you're confident with your riding ability though.

Haha, I don't think I'm quite capable of riding it back, I'm buying it to practice on, (: I'd probably kill someone/myself trying to ride it home.

Yeah money is always a problem starting off isn't it? Laughing

If you are in a secure job and you have a fair credit rating (and you're over 18, ofcourse), then you should be able to get it on Finance, it works for some people, others it doesn't, but its an option, right?

Have you looked 100's or even geared 50's if you are that desperate for practice?

Good luck. btw!

Hmm, there really isn't much near you. Have you considered a day trip to That London? It may be the only way you'll get any choice.

This

If they take older bikes in part ex they will probably not sell them in their dealership but ship them off elsewhere if they are not the same brand etc.

Pop in and leave your details and what types of bike youd be interested in and see if anything comes up, if they know they could shift a used bike to someone locally quickly they might be inclined to do so.

This just came up a few minutes away, doesn't look that great though, and seems pricey. Don't really want a tempermental 2 stroke for the winter... Rolling Eyes

I got lucky with mine. I found it after about two weeks of looking with enough money, the guy lived 5 miles away and rode it home for me which gave me plenty of time to find the best insurance deal and ride in my own time.

One will come dont worry.
