changed crank bearings and oil seal on dt 175 now smokes bad

hi all just wondering if theres someone out there to give me a little advise
i have a yamaha dt 175 dt mx year 1980 uk model
when i bought the bike there was a horrible noise coming from the engine so i took it to my local motorbike shop the guy said it was my crank shalf bearings had gone, i ask him would he do the job and how much would it cost, he said it would cost around £450 ouch so i took bike back home and got hold of a manual for the bike to see if i could do it myself ,noing i havent tryed anything like this before well here gose
i took engine out of bike striped and cracked engine in half replaced crank bearings and oil seals put engine back together wasnt easy and wasnt hard noing it was my first time, right i filled it up with engine oil started it up, well by god the smoke was untrue on tick over smoked, when i reved it smoked worse, i then took bike out for a run while it was smoking like it was and belted it up the road, no good there was oil coming out of air box and back box ,so back i went into the manual well i forgot to replace the o ring and o ring looked warn, ive got another 175 engine in the shed which isnt no good bought it for spares and its in bits, i no you shouldnt do what im just about to say but i took the o ring of the engine what is stripped down and put it on my engine just to see if it made any diffrents well yes it did i started bike up no smoke on tick over and only a little smoke on reving it but a diffrent story when i took it out again up the road at 60 miles an hour i looked behind and by god once again so much smoke but before i tryed the o ring it smoked on tick over and when i reved it but dosnt now i will say when i was rebuilding in back together when it got to the head going over the piston i was told to clean piston and put a little oil over the piston why i dont no but i did it the bike shop man told me to do this so i did but i think a little to much went into the engine, as oil can slipped i no i was stupid i was told that there is oil in the engine where oil shouldnt be and it causing it to smoke its got to be ridden to blow and to get rid of excess oil which i spilt down the head bit and yes there was quite a bit can any body avise me is this the problem the oil has got to be blown out the back box until smoke stops if so how far have i got to ride it like this ive done about mile and half but smoke was quite bad so come home incase of police or cause damage to the engine hope these someone out there who can help me

check your oil pump for correct adjustment.Its normal for rebuilt engines to smoke for a few miles,its worth cleaning/changing your air filter as well and make sure your cables to the oil pump are not fouled or sticking.

crankcase seals and gaskets that are faulty can cause g box oil to get into the crank,as can dents/scartches on the crankcase joins,usually caused by prying engine cases apart with screwdivers/metal bars.
