Ive recently inherited a 2000 Aprilia Sr 50cc scooter from my parents which has been sat in the garage for about 4-5 years. got insured on it after an MOT and have been riding it for a week could get 50 mph quite easily. was driving up a slight hill to my girlfriends when power droppped significantly barely could hit 20 mph. also noticed starting up being a problem taking a lot of throttle to get it going. got it home had a look at the spark plug which is fine, tried to start it up and the engine seized! had a dude free it at a local garage and run compression tests which say it is fine. it is not overheating either. had another ride on the estate and on full throttle it really struggles to get anywhere. the engine starts up it begins to get going but after 5 secs the power massively decreases. i dont know whats going on but if anyone has a clue would be very handy! thanks!

Does it have 2stroke oil in the oil tank?

You might want to actually check the compression yourself. Compression isn't a 100% indicator that its fine. My RS said it was at 130psi even though the main bearings had shat themselves.

well it seized after i cleaned the spark plug and fired it up again (kickstart wouldnt budge!!) checked the oil and there was some in there for sure, the oil indicator didnt come on anyway. took the bike to a garage and the dude freed it up there so ive rode about on it since then but with this major loss of power. yeah compression said 130 funny enough. not confident myself opening the engine up would rather have it done properly but dont want to be paying shit loads? i was thinking even maybe if it came to it getting a new engine but saying that, the fault may not lie in the engine!
