Hi all!I am a rookie of NSR,please to help me...
I bought Athena190 cylinder Kit and it was installed on my bike,
I can feel the crazy acceleration power when the throttle increase
rapidity...
but the maximum speed is about 100mph only at fifth gear 11000rev...then after changing to next gear the rev return to
9500 and speed remain at 100mph...
I have confused so much for a long time...

Here are some details for my bike:
Athena 190 cylinder kits/Athena racing muffler/Athena carbon silencer/special desigen crankshaft/lightweight balancer/PJ-39/racing housing/racing step/damper/bt39ss/yss shock absorber/sprocket drive(16t)final driven(34T)428

My first thought was the gearing (but I don't know what the standard gearing is), however thinking more on it where is this bike originally from?

Heard of some been restricted in the CDI unit.

My bike is originally from HONDA NSR 150,
but the parts are 80%common with NSR125,
especially the power plant

You haven't mentioned the intake restricter? I assume then you have removed this?

Don't know if that helps.... ask Kickstart, he's your man for this sort of stuff.

Most of the other guys will just tell you to buy a bigger bike! Laughing

Good luck
Mark

Hi

Suspect you have just greatly increased the mid range power, but not gain much top end power at all. It is possible that it is being strangled a bit by the size of the carb, so it might be worth trying a larger one (I think Malossi do a 30mm carb kit for the NSR).

All the best

Keith

I have a solution which will see you doing 160mph. Shocked

1. Book theory test.
2. Pass theory test.
3. Book practical test.
4. Pass practical test.
5. Sell NSR.
6. Buy a 600

Maybe I just don't see the point in spending shit loads on an NSR and it still just does the same, but slightly faster. For the amount you're spending it's so not worth it. Save your cash, buy a proper bike.

And I'd check the gearing out on it. And have you fitted an uprated powerband? Confused

Our country take too much taxes for the bike over 150cc
the taxes for the 150cc above will be the same to the
2000cc car... Mad

Hi Sars, I have a 2001 NSR 150 RW made in Thailand. I love this bike and don't want anything bigger for the time being. I have had several big bikes earlier in my life, but this little pocket rocket is great fun Laughing
I think your problem can be the jetting. Main jet 200 can possible be to big. When you change from 5th to 6th the resistance is bigger and the fuel/air mix a little richer. My advice is to try a 190 jet and test the bike again.
You also ride without air filter. A sure way of killing your engine fast.
