[cb1rocket]

Hi

Does any electrical boffins know about running an electronic tacho on a mechanical operated type bike? The new speedo I want to purchase are not cable driven and instead are electronic.

cheers

Hi

You just need to connect it up to the trigger side of the coil.

All the best

Not going to work on an H100S with 6v...............?

Sigh F***** scums that have to go and wreck my bike..............

Hi

Not sure. Depends if it also uses the trigger as power for the tacho. However if it just wants a trigger then it might be OK even with 6V electrics (ie, just looking for the trigger of the coil rather than caring about the voltage).

All the best

I've seen ones that just clip over the HT lead, I think it was an old-school motor factors as a car diagnostic tool. Picks the up signal through induction and gives you a reading. Also took a 12V feed, which I think was just to power the light.

Make sure the tacho matches the number of cylinders on your bike?
