Been two wheeling since a schoolboy & fancy a rip around a track before I enter the retirement decade.
I've got a GS500e as transport at the mo' & thinking of thrashing that to death as It'll be of no loss if crashed or blown.
Only for fun & for the experiance & not to be taken seriously so who gives a dam if not the best bike for the job.
Before I reach the point of no return though should I carry on with plan a or sell & get a MOT failure of something a little more sporty.
The reason I ask is because the handling is Ok on the road at commuting speed or when feeling a little frisky but i realise out on the track things will be nearer the limits & on the edge.
Thoughts please.

YOu're less likely to crash on track provided you get a little faster each time and build up slowly.

There's more grip, no cars, no diesel and you're concentrating harder.

A GS500 will be fine in the novice group, or there are plenty of companies that'll rent you something for sporty for the day such as Focussed Events.

What sort of excess are you looking at for rental?

Varies. You'll need to check with each one.
