..I like it, a lot! But I should be steering clear. No offense to the seller, I'm just trying to find a 'nice', reliable 1st big bike.
I think that's the right decision as it's had 10 owners, lots of work and if it looks like a Duck and walks like one, well...it's gotta be fuked.
Am I right?
I do like it though and a Divvy is very right for me at this time with regards insurance but there are plenty more around.
I DO like this though. ____________________ My Lane Position is always AWESOME!! |

Right, I like that... some pictures make it look like the rear tyre has been motorways for a long time/burnouts.. as the centre looks so worn.. could just be the camera shots sometimes.
I'd have it... I love the colours
It looks tidy though... I'd say its been crashed, but it "looks" tidy enough.
Insurance... might not be alright once you declare headlight mod, exhaust, paint job if its not on the V5 as black, non standard bars.
Obviously you don't have to declare them |

BTW its not insured at the moment either so be careful if you're test riding it. Tax disc looks red so that ran out on 01/07/11 at least (IIRC). Ah just zoomed in - expired 30/04/11. Bit overpriced I reckon without Tax (and prolly MOT). ____________________ Current bike: KTM SD1290GT

Thank you gents, each and everyone of you.
I would not pay the asking IF I offered a price.
I just like the styling and Paddy, I love the colours mate!
I think it looks the bollocks but I am gonna play safe.
Thanks all again for the advice.

Divvys are a good bike. Someone has spent some time and money on that.
But @ £400 it might be worth a punt.
No tax, No mot (stated)
Expect to see that on ebay for a while till the owner comes to their senses and realise that they are way above market price. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

I was thinking the lack of "MOT thing" was an omission in the listing, but yea, it's a big omission
I'm concerned with 10 owners, if it's not a 125 that makes the old alarm bells ring.
Anyway, as much as I like it, I am not even going to make inquires.
I'll leave it and look for another.
Gotta say though, it looks fukin great! ____________________ My Lane Position is always AWESOME!! |

Somebody seems to be confusing their Divvy for a Bandit
The Divvy and Bandits do look remarkably similar (barring the suzi is chunkier and weighs more), you'd probably pick up a nice Bandit for quite a bit less than that, got mine for £800 and a mate got a pristine 98 for a £1000 last year with about 14k miles on it. ____________________ Current: 02 FZS 1000 & 91 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Some Bike Pics...

I quite like it, but he's having a laugh at that asking price: probably been down, no tax, MOT, 10 owners, no mention of service history or receipts.
It's not even as though he's over-valuing it because he enjoys riding it, it's just taking up space in his garage.
Let it expire, then contact him and arrange a viewing. Be very sure to ask him explicitly about service history and whether the bike's ever been a write off or stolen / recovered.
Low cash in hand offer, or walk away. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Yet I had the reverse experiance.
2 years of daily commuting without a hint of issue other than the normal matainance.
Added bonus was leaving it stored in the garage for 18 months after getting a new bike and watching it start 1st time... Just charged the battery up before hand.
As a whole and from being on the divvy forum for many years they are solid reliable, cheap to run and work on, workhourses.
Sure the 900 is a good bike, but its heavy and not as easy on the pocket as the 600. |
Possibly, but mine was terrible! I got rid of it after about 3 months as it had left me stranded on several occasions and was costing too much money in lost earnings. Electrical problems, starting problems, poor running in the rain.
I found my gpz500 was a much better bike than the 600 Diversion, particularly performance-wise, I don't see there's much merit other than the low price but a 500 gpz could be had for similar money which is a lot more fun to ride.
The 900 Diversion has been completely different, mine has done 120,000 and remains a reliable workhorse, in nearly 2 years dispatching it hasn't left me stranded once. I agree its heavy but thats not a problem really, in terms of economy the only thing it maybe seems to really lose is about 10mpg to the 600 though its not particularly heavy on tyres or most other consumables.
To me its just a much more complete bike, I honestly don't care if it costs a little more in petrol and a back tyre every 11000 miles for the complete ease of running it and overall reliability.
For 4-500 I'd say a Diversion 600 could be okay, but for the grand being asked for that one you'd be nuts not to buy the 900. |
