I'm going to buy some tyres online as they are a good price.

But how do I go about fitting them? I'm guessing that tyre fitting places won't be too happy that you bought tyres elsewhere and will probably charge so much that it erases the saving you make from online purchases.

Or do car tyre places do it? Won't the brake discs get in the way?

I found with my local tyre place that they don't mind you buying tyres elsewhere. They get the business for putting them on for you. If you take the wheels in off the bike it should cost at most a £10 each wheel

Wheels off the bike is definitely the cheapest way, about £15 where i get them done.

Ride in, ride out fitting I paid £38.

Tubless £10 (bike tyre shop in Letchworth)
Tubed get some tyre leavers (or in my case some old spoons), and watch those muscles get bigger trying to get the last few inches of tyre back on the rim Laughing

Wheels off, in the boot of the car fitted for about £10 a piece.

A ride in when I was feeling lazy cost me £18 for a front tyre fitting.

Before you buy anything, ring around a few independent mobile tyre fitters, they are usually not a lot more than online plus fitting and you don't have to wait in/go collect tyres, take wheels off and drive to garage, refit etc etc etc.

For the convenience the extra few £ is worth it imo.
