Got an advisory for rust on my rear frame and the MOT guy mentioned giving it a paint up with some corrosion style paint would Hammerite be useful or could anyone give any ideas on what I could use?
Thanks in advance

Clean it up first with some autosol or sanding if it is deep.

Then paint it, you can get pain straight onto rust paints though I believe it will adhere better if you remove the rust especially if it is flakey. Unless you can poke your finger through it which means it is far too gone.

Hammerite is the golden queen of rust prevention, largely superceded by more modern paint/coating tech.

Try a combination of this companies products:

https://www.bilthamber.com/

I used them with great success on an old MG I had, they are growing in popularity in the classic (read: RUSTY) car world!!

Whatever you do do it quick, winters here & your pride & joy could be crumbling by spring.

There are some products that claim to be able to convert rust back to metal. Trip the paint off and slap some of that on it. Leave it for as long as you can then wire brush all the rust off, sand it if needed and give it some paint.
