Just a quick intro;
Got my bike couple of weeks ago, R plate Suzuki Bandit 600,
booked my direct access course in 3 weeks so hope to sail through it, I know where the clutch throttle and horn is so that should see me clear.
Will be on the lookout for some meets when/if I pass, just hope summers as good this year as last.
That's it, waffle over, anyone recently passed their direct access feel free to give me any pointers all are welcome!
Cheers

Main thing is nerves on the test. If you can beat the nerves, you'll pass it
The three big no-no's on the test are: putting foot down on U-turn, not being positioned correct turning right out of the one way steet and leaving your indicator on too long after a turn, get those right, sort the nerves and it'll be cool |

Hi mate,
Just passed my test yesterday (Thursday, cos its Friday morning now!!!)
You riden before?
Main thing IMHO is confidence. If you ride with confidence the examiner will notice that (but then I've had my NSR for almost a year).
Get your u-turn and emergency stop perfected. Cock either of these up and that Bandit will collect dust a bit longer. Generally don't do anything stupid. Touch kerb, drop bike, crash etc and all auto fail. It's strict but then you could end up sittin on 150Bhp+ next year, so testing has be to.
I'm sure you'll be fine. Just don't go to pieces on test day. I was pretty laid back about the whole affair, but like I say, I have been riding on the road for almost a year, which really has helped and would recommend this approach for any new rider.
All the best when it comes,

I've not ridden before but I've been driving for 10 years so I know road basics. Going to do a 6 day course, cbt, theory, 125cc 2 days, 500cc 2 days + test. Need to learn position in the road slow control .. finally mastered the centre stand after feeling like my arms were gonna drop off - no-one told me you don't pull from the handle bars.. duhhh! - Then I've just gotta fork out on some good leathers (got helmet) gloves and boots then I'm sorted!
