I'm on the verge of going out and spending money on another tool that will only ever be used once.

Before I do, does anyone have any good bodges for removing flywheels? I think the thread is 27mm x 1mm but I need to check.

Hi

What bike is it for?

I have a few floating around so might have one that will do the job.

All the best

Keith

£10 well spent in my oppinion. There are bodges but none of them are good. proper puller is totally worth the money.

Check the direction of the thread. Many of them are reverse threads. The standard honda one certainly is. M27x1.0 reverse thread rings a bell.

It's for the gasgas. From what I've read it's a fairly common size, maybe used by Honda? I should stop being a tight arse and just get one, I can add it to the half dozen I already have Laughing

Just having a quick look on the 'net it might be 26mm x1.5. I really need to check the size.

M26 x 1.5 with a normal thread is (from memory) the size used on the older Aprilia 125s (with SEM ignition).

All the best

If a bit of Googling doesn't throw up the answer then you can email kev@gasgasuk.com and he'll get back to you quite quickly with the answer.

Might as well fire off a quick email - he may well get back to you before you've found an answer on the net.

I sent an email a few hours ago asking for a quote for the puller, still waiting. Last time it took a couple of days for them to respond.

EDIT 08/12/11:
Day 2 and still no response from either of the two emails sent to Gas Gas Uk. I emailed motomerlin for the price for the puller, the response was '£12 - £20 according to the source'. Rolling Eyes Great, I'll just send you £20, post the change back if there is any.

EDIT 09/12/11
Nope, nothing, nada.

Was it the address I mentioned above you sent it to? I'm surprised they didn't give you the sizes, they've been helpful to me in the past.

Definitely the same address Joe. I actually sent two emails to different people, it was Jenny who replied. To be fair, if it's anything like our place their will be a number of people taking holidays.

Funny enough that is the one I brought earlier. One of the few places with reasonable postage costs.

Old Thread Alert!

The last post was made 14 years, 73 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful?
