Hi all, just wondering if anyone can help.

When I rev my NSR 125 RR to 4K revs, there is a rattle. It is only on and around these revs, any higher or lower, and it is fine.

Hopefully not major!

Probably something vibrating on the bike, just check everywhere for loose bolts etc. Though of course it could be the engine about to go bang Wink

It could be the engine inspection pannel on the right hand side of the bike. That can sometimes rattle. Unless it is coming from the engine.

Is it coming from the engine, or can you not tell? I only ask this because if the engine does have a rattle then you might want to get an engineer's opinion as that is what i have been told Very Happy

Im sure it will not be that as your bike isn't that old! Very Happy

At least, I hope its not that, I have a feeling it is around the engine, possibly in, so will have a flick through the yellow pages or something for a local bike mechanic I think.

Good idea, best to make sure! I would make sure that you get a trusted mechanic as i have heard of some who will say just about anything to the unsuspecting customer to get them to pay more money.!
Almost happened to me once, thats why i say be careful. Most mechanics are decent, honest people but there is always a small minority who have other idea's Sad

Hope your bike is ok mate!

That very same rattling happened on my friends NSR, at that very rev's range as well 4000 revs seemed to be its resonance frequency.
Anyways all it seemed to be is we took off the fairing and the plates on the exhaust seemed to of come loose. The material that goes in between the exhaust and the plate had slipped loose we tightened the bolts up and also put some more material there (double folded it) and it basically stoped the vibration.
