I had the same problem.

Took my local garage an hour to get them off. One of them was a different style to the other 3, and a slightly smaller socket smashed on top of it got it out with ease. But they had to do some welding onto something to get the others out.

Good luck with it Thumbs Up

As has already been said hammer + smaller socket normally works. I've had to do it on the van 'cos someone fooked them.

graprilia what your looking at is a cover over the stock mg zr locking wheel nut, your car should of come with a black plastic cylindrical tube that is used to remove the cove, this will then reveal a round nut with 2 indents that the locking wheel nut key would fit in, these are fairly easy to remove with a smaller socket

You get a locking nut remover when you buy a car with locking wheelnuts, it's a socket with the right pattern on one side and a standard wheelnut on the other side. Why don't you have one for your car?

If you go to the dealership then they will likely provide you with a locking nut remover for a price and with proof of ownership etc.

i suspect if you reread the full thread the op wasn't aware that there was a cap over the locking wheel nut therefore assumed the key he had was the wrong one but after he removed the cap he found the key he had did fit. But i would recommend you remove the locking wheel nuts that are on there, the standard mg locking wheel nut key is useless and eventually the 2 teeth in it will just round of leaving you in the same situation again
