so far in my life i have never met anybody who didnt like bacon, which got me thinking, is bacon the 1 food thing in the world that everybody likes.

I know vegetarians and terrorists cant eat it but if they did im sure they would like it. So do any of you not like bacon?

Your not allowed to say you dont just to be different as i know theres a few people on here will, for some reason, disagree with everything because they think being the odd one out makes them special. So honest answers only please.

I love it. Fried, microwaved (my granny used to cook it this way for us, and it's stuck) or grilled and love cutting it up to put in pasta.

Of course they like it! Whenever I travel to hotels in the Middle East or in parts of SE Asia (and I guess the same applies to certain cities in UK) then ALWAYS on the breakfast menu is a visually bacon-like product - made from turkey. Sometimes plain, sometimes smoked. Not bad stuff either although bacon it is not.

Didn't eat bacon for years because of café/snackvan sandwiches stuffed with fatty, stringy, limp crap putting me off.
Then, at a car show, someone turned out a bacon sandwich in which the bacon was crispy, what a revelation! Bacon sandwiches were then a favourite again and have remained so. Thumbs Up
To add to that, a year or so back I chucked some sweet chilli sauce into a crispy smoked bacon sandwich. One of the best food-sauce combinations I've tasted!

A girl i know hates bacon. She was raised a rasta and has never developed a love for the stuff.
My flat mate also hates it, but then his diet is VERY limited. He only really eats meat and the only meats he will eat are chicken nuggets and sausages. I guess he only eats highly processed meat that is mostly fat and skin reformed into various shapes.

I like to stuff it between two enormous baps and I always end up with sauce running down my chin.

There. That can't end up making me look stupid.

Assuming its not a trap. I don't like streaky bacon, back bacon yes very well done crispy stuff yes.

But just pink undercooked bacon you tend to find in Asia and a lot of Europe absolutely not.

My dad doesn't eat bacon though. He doesn't eat it as he didn't grow up in the UK and hygene and parasites in the pigs he and his dad used to slaughter absolutely disgusted him so much he doesn't eat it.

Then again my dad only eats steak and when I say that I mean for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I cut/rip off the fat bit. Then make a sandwich with about 6-7 rashers. With ketchup.
And it has to be Heinz Smile

Definitely a NO NO on a streaky bacon though.

Apparently bacon (or more specifically pork) is the meat which tastes most like human meat... Dont know how I know that; just heard it somewhere.

So, maybe the fact that everyone likes it goes back to the days when everyone was a bit neolithic and cannibals and shit roamed the earth.

Just a though. Idea

Thick smoked bacon fried until crispy slapped between two bits of doorstop or freshly baked crusty bread with brown sauce NOM thats my breakfast sorted.

Or another way that I have been having recently is grilled bacon in ciabatta with brie and tomato Drooling

Its why humans are called longpig... Wink

Myself I've heard from exfiremen when somebody burns to death in a car or in a house. Apparently the smell afterwards is supposed to be like a sickly sweet bacon smell.

Also Macau 1980s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqs5IeyID-s

A bloke in cahoots with his bro working at the morgue cut the thighs off corpses and put them into his roast pork buns. It was apparently extremely sweet tasting pork and was incredibly popular because of it.

How about sausages? Wink sorry

I love crispy fried bacon in sarnies. I've also become a little bit of a bacon snob. I got some lovely stuff from Smithfields a while ago and normal bacon has never felt the same Sad

Also chucked in the deep fat fryer till it goes extremely crispy then crumbling it over salads adds that much needed meatiness to greenery.

EDIT: Damn Paddy got there before me...

I'm another bacon fan, the more fat the better.

When I was a kid and bacon came with the rind on, Mum used to cut it off before cooking, but I was there to eat it raw.........nom nom nom Thumbs Up

A bacon and egg sandwich is usually part of my lunch order.
