Does anybody know if theres a difference in insurance premiums for using different alarms or different security devices ?

Are certain alarms or devices better for reducing insurance premiums ?

Any ideas..

Depends on the insurer, some insist on a certain category of alarm on higher risk bikes before they'll insure it, others have a premium difference between having/not having alarms, chains. etc etc their approval rating and they're all different.
Wasn't a lot of difference in my Bandit having/not having an alarm so I went without as they can be a PITA and just declared the approved type chain and lock. When I had a Blackbird and went to change bikes on my insurance they wouldn't have insured it without an alarm being fitted.

Wasn't going to have an alarm on my new bike, got quotes without. When I found the bike it had a Datatool S4 fitted which when I rang up to pay the Insurance it was £70 less than without. Think that will depend on the security and the Ins Co though. Thought £70 was pretty good really. Still use a big chain and disklock too though Smile
